Oh, how I’ve missed writing! The past couple of months, I’ve been working on myself. My spiritual self, to be more exact.
I’ve always been raised in a spiritual family. We would meditate together often, or discuss about spiritual experiences. However, as I moved to the opposite end of the world, things started to change. I’ve drifted away from spirituality.
I can’t exactly remember how it started, but recently, the universe has been calling me to return back onto my spiritual path. I’ve been meditating more and more. I’ve come across numerous beautiful experiences. One of which was the singing bowl.
My first proper encounter with the singing bowl was right after my aerial teacher finished her first sound healing certification, and she brought her bowl into class as we were doing our Shavasana on the silk. It was the most magical and beautiful sound ever. Immediately, I was hooked.
Each of their bowls is handcrafted beautifully, and comes with a mallet.
I was so happy when my bowl came. I immediately played it all around the house. :p the sound produced is smooth, calming, and meditative.
The existence of singing bowl dates back to the time of Buddha Sakhyamuni. It was brought from India to Tibet, along with the teaching of Buddhism.
The singing bowls can be found in temples, monasteries, meditation halls, and Buddhist altars. Traditionally, they are used to help in your meditation, bringing you to a deep zen state.
In the modern era, the singing bowl is used for more than just meditation. We can see them being used in a lot of yoga practices, holistic healing, or just for stress reduction.
In Traditional Chinese and Ayurvedic Medicines, illness is caused by disharmonies in the body. Everything has energy, and they vibrate at different rate. A shift in the vibration somewhere in the body, may cause disharmony.
The vibrations of the singing bowl cause your left and right brain to synchronize, emitting brainwaves that synchronize with the vibration of the singing bowl. This synchronicity brings your mind and body back into harmony.
