Monthly Favorites // May
"Cream colored ponies and crisp apple strudels
Doorbells and sleigh bells and schnitzel with noodles
Wild geese that fly with the moon on their wings
These are a few of my favorite things."
Well not really for this month. But this post feels like it’s going to be all over the place…
I’ve been loving a lot of stuff. Also, I’ve seen a lot of bloggers and vloggers doing monthly favorites, and I thought it would be a fun thing to post about! :)
Reebok CrossFit Grace ($99.99)
I’ve been going to the gym a lot lately. Been taking Les Mills classes and also training with a personal trainer (she’s the best, btw!). Little did I know, shoes are crucial for your performance!
The way that I buy sneakers, usually, it’s comfy, it’s pretty. Ok! Done! But my old sneakers (though I think they were quite pretty) had so little support and so little (almost zero) grip. So when I did my workouts, I would slip and slide. I’ve kind of developed a skill to use those slipping and sliding as an advantage. But they would hurt my ankles; I actually thought it had to do with them being injured before. So I asked my trainer for a recommendation, and she suggested me to look at Reebok.
The problem I had with Reebok, usually, is their design. Usually they have funky colors or patterns. But I found one. A pretty one.
Love at first sight!
They are so comfortable. So light. And grippy!!!! I don’t have to slip and slide during my workouts. AND! My ankles haven’t been hurting! :D
Contraband Pink Label Weight Lifting Gloves ($14.99)
Another one related to fitness. But this has nothing to do my old weight lifting gloves being dysfunctional. It actually has to do with (coughs) me leaving my old ones back in Indo. Oops…
My hands hurt when I weight-lift. And I don’t want calluses on my hands. :p I browsed Amazon and found these!
Another amazing grippiness! The first time I did burpees with these babies, I could actually hear them peeling off the floor. They actually suction-cupped themselves onto the floor.
This might sound dumb, but I never realized that roasted broccoli is actually a thing. I’ve never seen it in restaurants or anyone posting about it. But one night, because we didn’t have enough cauliflowers to roast for me and Kyle, and just so we didn’t have to make more dishes, we decided to throw in some broccoli.
I was surprised at how good it was! They are beautifully crispy, almost chips-like, but still have a good thick crunch to them. We usually just salt and pepper them, and throw them in the oven for 15 – 20 minutes at 400ºF. And then I would sprinkle some nutritional yeast. Yyyyummmm!!!
And hey! Broccoli Chips???
Egg Collar Pin
I am obsessed with this collar pin! My sister gave this to me on my birthday. Well… Not precisely on my birthday, cause we were both at different ends of the world when it was my birthday. But as my birthday present. And for one reason or another, eggs are always cute!
Also, I've gotten a lot of compliments for this pin. So thank you Suzie-Q!
I also have a new obsession with pins. They are soooooooo adorable! They make great accessories for plain shirts hehe. :)
I did watch Glee when they first came out. But on the plane on my way back to the U.S., I watched the first season again on the plane, and I was immediately hooked as much as I was when I first watched it. It gave me mixtures of emotions. I cried, I laughed.
Thank goodness it’s on Netflix! So I continued watching it until the end.
I love musicals! They make me so jolly inside. :) Plus, Glee has very positive messages in their episodes.
