Apple Cider Vinegar Tea

So! The cold has been going around lately. It has finally caught on to me. I really blame my trainer for this…

Last week, my trainer was nasally, congested, coughing, and on Saturday we had a stretch session. Since Sunday evening, Kyle and I have been hacking, coughing, and dripping. Not a beautiful sight. We’ve been trying to drown our cold with tea after tea.

Also, lately, I’ve been kind of obsessed with drinking apple cider vinegar drinks. I usually bought the ones from the store, but lately I’ve been making my own. The beauty about making your own is you can adjust it to your liking – more sour, less sour, sweeter, or not sweetened at all, etc etc. A lot of the ones in the store, I think, need more ACV. And because I looooooove love sour, I make sure my ACV drink will make faces scrunch! :)

With this cold going around, the sore throat, the congestion or sometimes the drip, I like having my ACV drink warm. And taking it just one step further, I added a bag of tea. :)

One of my favorite teas of all time is Yogi Tea. Yes, they do taste great. But look!

Each tea bag comes with a positive message. I literally get excited whenever I open a bag of Yogi Tea. It’s like opening a fortune cookie, but with a happier message. :p

The flavor, or blend, that I use for my apple cider vinegar drink is the Throat Comfort. Because *ahem!*

It's warm.
Tangy.
A tad spicy.
Sweet.
Comforting.

I do have to say though, maybe it’s just in my head, or maybe the apple cider vinegar is really working its magic, but with this drink, my cold gets better instantly.

Why is apple cider vinegar so good?
Balances your body’s pH
Detoxes your body
Helps in weight loss
Balances your blood sugar
Fights allergies
A remedy to cure cold and sore throat!!!

INGREDIENTS
1 glass of warm or hot water
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon honey, maple syrup, or stevia
A dash of cayenne pepper or cinnamon (optional)
1 – 2 tea bags (optional)

  1. If using a tea, brew your tea in hot water for 3 – 5 minutes. I like my tea strong, so I tend to brew them longer.
  2. Add in the apple cider vinegar, sweetener of choice, and cayenne pepper if using. Stir
  3. Drink warm or enjoy at to room temperature.
